The Kangalumira Area Cooperative Enterprises is located a short way from the Nile River in eastern Uganda. Much like the Kayunga Cooperative a kilometer away, the women who live in Kangulumira speak primarily Luganda and Lusoga.
Each morning, they start their day with prayers and then go out to harvest pineapple, jackfruit, sweet banana, papaya, and mango. Wearing white to symbolize their commitment to hygiene, the women of Kangulumira are also known for making pineapple wine and juice from various fruits!
